Emily Mayer, a successful 46 year old artist from Kenninghall, had suffered from gum disease for many years. Despite regular trips to her UK dentist, Emily was gradually losing all her teeth and with them her confidence.
Emily could not face a lifetime of wearing dentures and knew the best solution was dental implants, but dental implants require specialist and requires a highly experienced surgeon. In the UK, this experience comes at a cost, up to £2,000 per implant, and Emily needed 17 implants and crowns. She was looking a private dentist bill of £60,000!
Emily’s extensive research eventually took her to Budapest, Hungary, widely regarded as the centre of excellence for dentistry in Europe, and to the Smile Savers clinic, the largest in Budapest. Emily was treated by Clinic director, Dr Atilla Kaman, regarded as the leading maxillofacial surgeon and Master of Implantology, having placed over 15,000 dental implants.
Emily worked closely the Smile Savers team in the UK and Hungary to make sure her treatment experience was just right, from arranging her transport and hotels to ensuring that her dental treatment plan was easy to understand and all the costs transparent.
Over the next 6 months Emily made three trips to Budapest and had a total of 17 Branemark dental implants fitted with additional bone augmentation where it had deteriorated, plus 24 porcelain fused to gold crowns crafted by the clinic’s expert, on-site technicians.
